CLEARING
CACHE It is advisable to clear your cache regularly
to insure smooth surfing on COHF. These are the instructions to
deleting your temporary internet files for two of the most popular
browsers.
To clear your cache on the Windows system, go
to the top of your browser and click "Tools." Then click "Internet
Options." In the General section, there is a subcategory labeled
"Temporary Internet Files." Delete those files.
Using the
Netscape Navigator, click "Edit" at the top of the browser. Then click
"Preferences." From here you go to the "Advanced" category and click
the "Cache." Clear the Memory and Disk Cache to free up the most memory
for easier navigation in COHF.
PICTURE SIZE
If you are having problems viewing the pictures without scrolling, you
have two options to make the pictures fit your screen: 1) Click again
on the oversized picture and it should automatically resize to fit your
computer screen. If that does not work, then 2) set you computer to a
1024 x 768 resolution. The newer pictures are in 1024 x 768 resolution
for better clarity.
MOVIES PROBLEM
The first thing to do if you are having trouble viewing videos is to re-sign in.
When your time is expired, you can not view movies. Go back to the visual
password page, and choose your visual passcode.
The next step is to make sure that your cache is cleared as specified in our
support section.
If this does not work, check to make sure that you have the latest media player
and the appropriate codecs to plug into your media player.
The CODEC needed for Windows Media Player 9 is found here.
For more Microsoft update, click here.
If you continue to have problems viewing the wmv format and wish to view the all
compilation, try right clicking on the wmv link and choosing ?Save Target As.?
From there file it on your desktop for easy access, and view it when it is
completely downloaded at your convenience.
If you are still having difficulty viewing the wmv?s, try doing a search on ?
mpeg joiner? at http://www.google.com or http://www.twocows.com.
If you are looking to find a free mpeg joiner, it would be wise to put that in
your search parameters.
Linux users should check out mpgtx at http://www.freshmeat.net.
If there is further difficulty, please use the contact page so that we can
insure that your problem is tended to properly and promptly.
CHAT PROBLEM
We have discovered that Microsoft's version of Java is buggy. These bugs may cause you to experience strange Applet & Application behavior. In addition, our site may not work properly for you at all.
In addition, Microsoft has stopped bundling their Java with their newer operating systems (e.g. Windows XP), requiring users to upgrade to Sun's Java web browser plugin regardless.
If you are having problems using our site, then it is recommended that you upgrade your Java web browser plugin to Sun's Java web browser plugin. It's free and only takes a couple of minutes.
Click the button below to attempt automatic installation. For most systems, automatic download and installation will begin: On each window that appears, click Yes or Next to continue.

For some, it will confirm that your system is already up to date (Java logo will be animated). For others, it will instruct you how to download and install manually.
Javascript must be enabled to access and utilize the COHF Message Board
and all chat rooms.
